Releases

Both halves are live: the WordPress plugin below, and the browser extension on the Chrome Web Store.

WordPress plugin

v1.0.2

Receives what you copy and inserts it into the editor you have open. Install it once; updates then arrive in wp-admin like any other plugin.

  1. v1.0.2

    Current

Sites installed from the wpgraft.com download are now offered new releases: the update check answers with the version field WordPress requires before it will show an update. A site running 1.0.0 or 1.0.1 from that download needs one manual update to get this release; after that, updates arrive on their own. Sites installed from WordPress.org are updated by WordPress.org and were never affected.

  2. v1.0.1

    Hardening, no new features.

Every copy is now scrubbed before it is stored, for every user: script elements, event-handler attributes and PHP open tags are removed, the JavaScript field of every builder code element is emptied, and every stylesheet is validated statement by statement with the rules WordPress applies to its own Additional CSS. A copy whose only root element was a code block no longer bypasses the unfiltered_html gate on Breakdance and Oxygen, and Oxygen 6's HTML Code and CSS Code elements are covered by that gate too. The stylesheets the plugin prints on the front end go through the WordPress style API.

  3. v1.0.0

    First public release.

Copies a section, or a whole page, from any public website and rebuilds it inside your page builder as that builder's own elements, with the styles in the builder's own fields. Not a screenshot, not an embed, not a block of pasted HTML: you edit the result exactly like anything you built by hand.

Works with the block editor, Elementor (v3 and v4), Bricks, Divi 5, Beaver Builder, Breakdance, Oxygen 6 and Oxygen Classic. Images and web fonts the section needs are imported into your own Media Library and the references rewritten, so the layout does not break when the source site changes.

Browser extension

v1.0.0

Does the copying: point at a section on any public page and send it to your builder.

  1. v1.0.0

    Current

    First public release.

Point at any section of any public page and copy it into your builder. Picks a whole page, a section, or one element; captures the styles, images and fonts; and hands the result to the wpgraft WordPress plugin, or straight onto the Webflow Designer canvas.

Asks for access to a site only at the moment you copy from it, never at install.

How to use it

wpgraft is two halves. The extension copies; the plugin receives. You need both, and they are installed in opposite places: the extension in your browser, the plugin on your WordPress site.

  1. 1

    Install both halves

The plugin on the WordPress site you are building, the extension in Chrome. Sign in once from the extension.

  2. 2

    Point at what you want

On any public page, open the extension and pick a section, one element or the whole page, then choose the builder to send it to.

  3. 3

    Insert and edit

Open that page in your builder, then press “Send to open builder” in the extension. Chrome asks once for access to your site. The wpgraft panel lists what arrived; insert it and edit it like anything you built by hand.

The plugin is free and has no licence key. Copying is metered on the wpgraft account the extension signs in with. See pricing.
